India And Pakistan - Could we be Friends ?

Recently India and Pakistan Celebrated their 64th Independence day. Its been 63 years that we both are apart from each other and every year the hatred between both the countries is increasing. We accuses Pakistan for all the wrong doing and same ways they accuse us.

But as an Indian National i had always wanted peace between our Countries, fighting for so many years has not yield  anything for both of us, lots of Soldiers had died from both side, both the countries where many people don't get meals two times a day are spending huge amount of money on Defense Equipments just to fight against each other, is this justified ?

What i see is that Media also plays a crucial role in defining the relations between the countries, they can make or break. As the Common man does not have any straight access to whats going on in between two nations, they rely on Media for that. Today we don't have a responsible Media apart from few dependable ones. Most of the news are cooked up and served to common man, which only helps in adding hatred in our hearts against each other.

What i think is that we common people and the young generation want better relations between us and this is evident from this tweet by @farhanmasood who is a Pakistani Citizen on Pakistan's Independence Day.

Same ways on a Singing show called " Chhote Ustad " which is being aired on Star Plus Channel have brought Indian and Pakistani Kids on one Platform where one Indian and one Pakistani Kid had been paired into a team. You could see the friendship between kids, you can't tell who is Indian and who is Pakistani amongst them. Some of the Parents of Pakistani Kids were having tears in their eyes when they were praised by legendry Singer Asha Bhonsle even the Judges Sonu Nigam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have great comradery going between them.

Yes the people like Hafiz Saeed there and some of the hardliners here are not willing to come on terms of Peace and they never will, but if me and you are determined towards harmony and friendship between India and Pakistan nobody can stop us to do that.

It is true that Pakistan has more number of hardliners then ours and many there are Brain Washed on the name of Islam but if this Peace process is started and if each and every one of us will remove hatred against our Neighbouring country from their Heart then a time will come when these so called Hardliners will have no one to look after them.

In one of my earlier post i have stated Pakistan as one of the Countries where i intended to visit in future, i wanted to have a look at the country which was our part some years back, i wanted to know what people there think of us, how different is it from us i suppose we are very similar whether it is our Food, our language, terrain, our Colour, some extent our nature also. If we are so similar then we should not be fighting. If Peace prevails between us then My dream of visiting Pakistan will not be very distant from turning to reality.

Right now Millions of Pakistani People are affected by Floods there and same ways in our Leh many also have lost their lives and their homes because of Cloud Burst. India has shown a good gesture by providing some economic aid to Pakistan for flood victims. Both the countries should help each other in their grievances, If Pakistan acts against the culprits behind Mumbai Attacks it would be a huge step in gaining India's Confidence.

  2. I think it is unfair on your part to compare Bal thackery with Saeed. Is Bal thackery a terrorist?Perhaps, you need to get your facts right and some such comparison creates bigger trouble than we can imagine.
Yes,people of pak and india can be friends, but it is the politics and the mind set of two countries which is keeping us apart.

  3. Not at all Bal Thackeray is a Terrorist and i have not stated that also, i just have stated Both of them do not want peace Between us. Siting your comments that they create Big trouble i will edit that part.

  4. For more than 60 years we are fighting and have not gained a single penny by that, so this time give a chance to peace maybe it changes something.

  5. WELL SAID MR. CHOWLA !! REALLY ABHI GOOD TO SEE U EDITED THAT,,BUT BAL THAKERAY IS NOT EVEN 10% OF SAEED.NO COMPARISION STAND AT ALL,INFACT TO SOME EXTENT HE IS RIGHT,
why always think of pakistan only who only backstab??cant we simply ignore pak?hundreds of other countries are there, lets be friend with them.
yes,it is our neighbour country, but does it mean everything? what they did earlier after Mr.Vajpayee visit? He gave us kargil!! And kargil doesnot mean kargil only, remember hundreds of our soldiers died there just because India wanted to improve relations and Mr.Vajpayee started the process.
It is very simple to say start the peace process again, what will happen more terrorist will come in form of common man, bigger kargil will happen again.ASk any of the mother who lossed her son in kargil war whether to start the peace process.
Its very simple to blog things that start process,so and so .
What pak gave us?kargil ,then 26/11,lets wait for next.

Also to say that it is politics that is keeping us apart. Its completely wrong about indian policts.ONly in this issue, our political parties havenot done anything wrong dealing with pak.All parties from BJP to Congress always wanted to improve relations with pak, only pak politicians are wrong.
Look at recent incident what their foreign minister did with ours. This was a big Insult of india. But our government dint highlighted it much.
What i wanna say is Yes,relations should be improved.but this should happen from both side. If they dont, simply ignore pak!!! lot more issues are there, lot more countries are there!!!

  6. great post!!! pakistan and india, 2 countries that have been in fight since independence... why don't we turn into friends? quoted things with great examples... in orkut, there is a particular community for indo-pak friendship and lot of members from both countries (more than 1 lakh) are in the community.. people love each other... but some political leaders guide them into wrong direction and try to create problem always...

  7. I guess you missed the theme of this post.
I said People there and here wants peace, they are no different from us.
What has happened is over, if we do not go forward on Peace more Terrorist attacks will happen in future.
After all the common man suffers every time.
I just have said could we be Friends and if yes it would be great.
See your attitude also, being a positive post where only ways of peace were written your comments just carry negativity.
But its your individual decision i will not argue it, i always wanted good relations between both the countries and thats what i had stated.

You ought to have good relations with your Neighbours , whole regions fate depends on it.
And on Bal Thackeray matter i have already stated that i have not at all compared both of them, i know my facts i just had stated two extreme persons in both of the countries and thats all.

  8. Sorry for bringing negativity in your post.I said whatever i felt. You may delete my comments if you feel so.It is in your hands!!!!!!!!

Also,do suggest some ways what can be done to improve relation with pak(apart from swallowing down all the insults done by pak)!

  9. When you say all the Insults done by Pak to whom do you refer ? must be their Foreign Minister, but he is only one person and those were his comments, even the Pakistani Public and their Media was not in favour of him and everybody knows at the end who was on the receiving end.

In short my post was my thought which wanted India and Pakistan to have good relations between them.

I have told the Suggestion in my post that we the people in both countries should not have hatred amongst us and path of peace should be entertained, thats how relations will improve.

I know your thoughts on this issue and was knowing already that this was coming from you, but as said its your thinking and you have every right to have it, i don't have to delete your comments.

Being an open forum you could write what you feel is right .

  10. Ya i knew about that Community, i was also one of the members of it.
People of both the countries do not have any knowledge about their counterparts, If they know that we both are very much alike the half of the hatred would then only be removed.

  19. For me there is no difference between an Indian and a Pakistani. I have the same feeling of love for the people of both countries. MY hate is only for those who spread hate and enmity. Before Partition my three uncles were working in Mumbai. After partition two returned to Pakistan and one opted to live there. He came back to Pakistan in 1991, just for 15 days. I ask him a lot of questions about India and Indian. He was happy in India. He told me that we the Muslims and Hindus living there like brothers. He didn't show any sign of hate for the Indian. I also heard my other uncles taking about their friendship with Indians. I often hear my father taking about how the Hindus and Muslims were living together happily right here in our village. So why we can't be friends today?

  20. This was the best comment i had got for this post.
I have also seen many Muslims from here going to there relatives in Pakistan and also some coming from Pakistan to meet there relatives here and have never seen any hatred amongst them.
We fight with each other but could not achieve any conclusion and i am sure we will not get any if we continue to do so.
I am always interested to know what in Pakistan people think about us and how the terrain is there and wanted to visit there also.
Thanks again for visiting here and if there are more people like you here and there we will surely achieve peace.
